Opening hours and addresses
Lecco Italia
The theatre was established in 1986 and the company recognized by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage as a “Children and Youth Theatre Company of national artistic importance”. The Children’s Theatre strives to research and produce theatre in non-appointed spaces. Among the performances listed are: “Casa Manzoni”, a theatrical guided visit of the house of Alessandro Manzoni, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, an itinerant setting performance in open spaces of the Shakespearean comedy. The company is distinguished by the use of original dramatic acts, allowing the actors – taking cues from literary or iconographic sources – to improvise through topics such as poetic memory, the use of dialect, autobiographical cues, and a passing nod to history. In addition to its own theatrical productions Teatro Invito also works intensively in the local territory. It organizes the summer folk festival ‘The Last Moon of Summer’ held in the Lecco area since 1998, and along the river Adda, and is one of the most significant theatrical events in Lombardy.
